Clairemont Mesa West is centrally located in beautiful San Diego, California. Best known for its neighborhood parks, family activities, middle class homes with canyon and ocean views. Minutes from all major freeways, downtown and all the local beach areas.

Clairemont is one of the first post-World War ll suburban developments in the City of SanDiego, with many of its homes built in the 1950s and 1960s. The area is largely defined by its prominent topography hence it is also known as Clairemont Mesa because it sits atop mesas punctuated by several canyon systems, with San Clemente Canyon (also known as Marian Bear Park) to the north and Tecolote Canyon Preserve weaving through the center of the community. The western portion of the community offers many homes with views of Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Neighborhoods also include Bay Park, Bay Ho, Park West, Clairemont West are the names of some of these neighborhoods.

Nature lovers will enjoy Clairemont's canyon perserves; Tecolote, or owl, was given the name for the diminutive raptor that lives in this canyon. Today, Tecolote Canyon north of Mount Acadia is a Natural Park and Nature Center and offers its visitors a variety of educational and recreational opportunities. South of Mount Acadia Tecolote Canyon has a golf course with  driving range. San Clemente Canyon to the north is also known as Marian Bear Memorial Park   was preserved due to the efforts of Marian Bear to be an open space and is primarily used for mountain biking and trail running.

Several significant commercial centers serve Clairemont Mesa and are located at the intersections of major transportation corridors, such as Clairemont Drive and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, as well as Balboa Avenue and Genesee Ave. Smaller pockets of commercial development are interspersed throughout the community and along Morena Boulevard. Clairemont also boasts excellent eateries.

Younger children in Clairemont can attend the Child's Primary School or the Lindbergh/Schweitzer Elementary School, while older students can learn at Marston Junior High, the Health Sciences High and Middle College School, and Clairemont High School. The community is also home to the Islamic School of San Diego for Muslim students of all grades. Also nearby are two competitive higher education institutions, the University of San Diego and the San Diego Mesa College.

Also nearby to Clairemont are the Mission Bay Golf Course and Mission Bay Park, which is the largest man-made water park in the country at more than 4,000 acres, with San Diego Sea World and 27 miles of shoreline. There are numerous other golf courses in and around the community, including the Sam Sneed All American Golf Course in Tecolote Canyon National Park. San Diego International Airport is just five miles south of Clairemont.
